As some of you know, Travis and I recently bought our first home together here in Nashville. This house provides ample space for us to grow as a family, have our own workspaces and plenty of room for Gemma to roam. We are beyond thankful and are very excited about making this house, our home. Buying a house gave me all of those "hurry up and buy stuff" feelings but after taking a deep breath, we decided to take a slow and thoughtful approach to furnishing our new digs. We didn't like feeling pressured to buy for the sake of buying. We wanted our home to feel intentional; to feel like us. So we are transforming this house room by room with quality over quantity. And no, "quality" doesn't have to mean "out of budget" - I strongly believe that.
All that said, we decided to work on our master bedroom first since it's our space. Not Gem's, OURS. While it's still a work in progress, and in desperate need of plant-life, I love how it's coming along. One thing we love most about this space is our new king-sized bed. As parents of a toddler, we take our sleep very seriously. We don't get enough of it these days but after we received our Tuft & Needle mattress in the mail, we were hopeful that this mattress was going to be a game changer, and goodness were we right. After just a couple of nights, we could see a drastic change in our sleep patterns. Travis and I both feel rested in the mornings. Feeling rested as parents is rare, y'all. The set up was minimal; no fuss. no aching backs. In the photos above, you'll see even Gemma lends a helping hand...
